The night we neet out neighbor.

Thursday was the launch of the iPhone, needless to day it was crazy at the store. We opened at 7 am! There was a line of people ready to come in the store and get out of the 15 degree weather. We had our hands full, I worked from 6:30am to 8:30pm without a break, it was nice to get that experience and adrenaline rush of selling again.

When I came home, we ordered a pizza. Me being tired, I forgot to add the apartment number on the order, so we did not get our pizza until 11:30pm! We were both ready to pass out at this point, David had spent the day exploring and looking for a neighborhood for us to move into once we are done with our lease.

Friday came along, and another 12 hours of work passed and David surprised me and took me out for drinks. We started at a restaurant near the store, had a few drinks, some fries and a delicious platter of assorted cheeses.

We then decided to go "downtown" and took the subway down to NYU. I finally had made it to Washington Square!!

Walking around trying to figure out were the good places were, along came 2 grils and 2 guys. So we asked them where a good nearby place was. They were so helpful, they walked us to the right street and pointed us in the right direction.

This whole theory that New Yorkers are rude, is absolutely wrong. I have yet to see anyone be rude or be rude to me, everyone has always been helpful, nice, and polite.

We walked another 4 blocks and made it to the NYU crowd. It was great! all the restaurants and bars were open, and there were a lot of people. We ended up at the mexican bar (go figure) and we ordered a pitcher of margaritas. and sat there for hours drinking deliciousness and eating chips with salsa.

It was now 3am and it was time for us to go home.
.....

When we got to the apartment we had the wonderful surprise that we were locked OUT of our apartment!!!! How the "F" does this happen you ask? well you see, the apartment's locks apparently dont work as they should. To be a little positive, at least we learned that no one could get in the apartment, and that our locks really are safe...

So I called a locksmith. yes at 3:45am. ETA: 15-20mins. David and I sat at the bottom of the stairs waiting for this man to come and trying hard not to fall asleep, he finally makes it to our building at 4:20am I explain the situation and take him to the 2 posible entrances and see which would be the easiest and cheapest way to do this.

This guy had tools! I felt a little bad for our neighbors since this was not the quietest way to get into an apartment... We woke one of our neighbors and she came out to see what was going on. She told us she got locked IN her apartment too!!!! So obviously it wasn't me who was locking David in on purpose!!!  We talked for a while and found out she is having the same problems that we were (good to know we are not alone) and told us to expense the cost of this out of our rent (thank goodness this is possible, let me tell you this was not cheap). Finally the door opens at 6:10am.  We now have a door without a lock. Perfect!- NOT. We blocked the door and fall asleep after laughing about what we just had gone through for about 20 minutes. The locksmith will be back later today to place the lock back in, as if this had never happend.

Just another experience in NYC...
